The curator of MA|A (Melbourne Architecture Annual) 2011, Shelley Roberts is interviewed by TV show Sacred Spaces.
In this episode, Shelley talks about one her favorite buildings in Melbourne, Hero Apartments. The building was the former Russell Street Telephone Exchange and Post Office and later renovated by Melbourne architect Nondas Katsalidis in 1999 into an apartment block.
Shelley explains that the people who live in Hero apartments have created a “vertical community,” and exemplify inner city living at it’s best. Shelley also talks about her involvement with MA|A and it’s purpose of engaging with the public on architectural issues.
