Moving In & Moving Out

Moving In & Moving Out gives you the information you need to know to prepare ahead of time and the procedures you need to follow on the day to make it a good experience for all involved.

Building Location

The Hero Apartment Building is located at 118 Russell Street Melbourne. It is on the north east corner of Russell Street and Little Collins Street and between Melbourne Place off Russell Street and Coromandel Place off Little Collins Street.

    • Pedestrian entrances are through the Russell Street foyer and 140 Little Collins Street foyer
    • The carpark entrance is on Coromandel Place off Little Collins Street 
    • Little Collins is one-way street travelling from east to west
    • To access the Hero carpark entrance in Coromandel Place turn into Little Collins Street at Exhibition Street, then right into Coromandel Place 
    • Take note of the parking restrictions on the streets and lanes

Procedures

Moving In and Moving Out should be good, efficient experiences for Residents and others, keeping disruption to a minimum, taking care to protect all the personnel involved, common and private property. All moving must take place in consultation with the Building Manager.

Moving In

Please follow these procedures with care when Moving In:

  • Contact the Building Manager at least 2 days ahead of time to make arrangements for access and lift preparation
  • Pay the $500.00 bond to the Owners Corporation Manager at least 2 days ahead of time
  • Arrange times with the Building Manager in the hours permitted, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm only, no move-ins on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays
  • Note: All damage and costs to private or common property are the responsibility of the residents who are moving
  • Check your insurance coverage
  • Unload furniture, goods and chattels outside or inside the carpark taking note of lift and carpark dimensions below
  • Transport your goods and chattels carefully from the Coromandel Place carpark entrance to the padded lift on carpark level 1
  • Ensure removalists take away any excess packing materials and boxes 
  • Make arrangements for your utilities to be turned on in time for your arrival 
  • Make sure you have applied for security keys, security fobs and carpark remotes as appropriate. See form below.
  • Your bond is returned to you after any costs covering damage to common property are deducted
Moving Out

Please follow these procedures with care when Moving Out:

  • Contact the Building Manager at least 2 days ahead of time to make arrangements for access and lift preparation 
  • Arrange times with the Building Manager in the times permitted, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, no move-outs on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays
  • Note all damage and costs to private or common property are the responsibility of the residents who are moving
  • Check your insurance coverage
  • Transport furniture, goods and chattels carefully from the apartment to the padded lift then down the ramp to Coromandel Place and out to your vehicle taking note of lift and carpark dimensions below
  • Ensure removalists take away any excess packing materials and boxes
  • Make sure you have arranged for your utilities to be turned off and your final bills are ordered 
  • Make sure all security keys, security fobs and carpark remotes have been handed safely to owners or their authorised agents 
  • The bond is returned to you after any costs covering damage to common property are deducted
Dimensions of Carpark Entrance and Lifts

Accidents happen when these dimensions have not been taken into account ahead of time, please take note.

  • Lift interiors are 1870 mm wide x 1725 mm deep x 2430 mm high
  • Lift doors are 1065 mm wide x 2130 high mm
  • Carpark internal height is 2.1metres
  • A winch at the top of the carpark ramp can be used for hauling materials
Applications for Security Key Security Fobs, Carpark Remotes

Applications are required from owners or their authorised agents for: 

  • Security keys for apartments
  • Security fobs for entrance to the foyers and the lifts
  • Carpark remotes for Coromandel Place entrance 
  • Order forms are to be sent to the Owners Corporation Manager as instructed on the forms below
  • Security keys, security fobs and carpark remotes are delivered to owners or their authorised agents by the Building Manager
